Sometimes, you just need a quick stop, a decent dessert, and somewhere comfortable to sit down after walking around Batam.
That’s exactly how I ended up at The Smith Batam.
Easy to find, easy to sit
It’s located inside Grand Batam Mall—top floor, right beside the cinema (you’ll know when you see it).
So if you’re already shopping or just wandering around, it’s one of those places you can just casually walk into without planning.
Keep it simple
I didn’t go all out here.
Just three things:
- Affogato
- Ham & cheese croissant
- Chocolate croissant
And honestly, that’s more than enough to get a feel of the place.
The quick take
The affogato is straightforward—espresso over ice cream, nothing fancy, but it hits the spot.
The croissants were surprisingly decent.
Not bakery-level mind-blowing, but:

The ham & cheese leans savory, while the chocolate one is just simple and satisfying.
